About

Countdown court is a small, fast paced action game. In the center of the court, there is a large countdown, which the player can delay by scoring points in various hoops on the arena. Try to survive as long as possible!

This game was made for the GMTK Game Jam 2026 hosted by Game Maker's Toolkit. The jam's theme was "Countdown"

Due to very limited time this year I did not implement any "extra features", but my main goal was to deliver something playable, and I think it turned out all-right :)

Controls

[A][D] - left/right

[W] - jump

[S] - pick up a ball / hold to shoot

Hoops

Classic hoops appear in the static docks

If a classic hoop is hit, the dock is upgraded by one level (caps at level 3)

If a classic hoop is missed, the dock goes back to level 1

• Level 1 hoop (blue) - adds +1 second to the timer, 
• Level 2 hoop (green) - adds +3 seconds to the timer,
• Level 3 hoop (orange) - adds +5 seconds to the timer

Special hoops appear on the top bar

One special hoop will appear for each level 3 classic hoop hit

• 10 (purple) - adds +10 seconds to the timer
• F (cyan) - freezes all hoops and the timer for 5 seconds
• S (pink) - slows down all hoops and the timer by 50% for 10 seconds
• U (yellow) - upgrades all static docks by 1 level up (caps at level 3)
